Política de Cookies

In compliance with the provisions of Law 34/2002, of 11 July, on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce, this website informs you, in this section, about the policy of collection and treatment of cookies.

About cookies

Cookies are files that can be downloaded from websites onto computers and other electronic devices. They are tools that play an essential role in providing numerous information society services. Among other uses, they enable a website to store and recover information about user’s browsing habits, or those of the user’s computers and, depending on the kind of information obtained, they can be used to recognise users and improve the service provided.

Types of cookies

There are two main types of cookies depending on the entity managing the domain from which the cookies are sent and the processing done on the data obtained.  Proprietary cookies: re cookies that are sent to the user device from a computer or domain managed by the cookie editor and from which the service requested is provided. Third-party cookies: are cookies that are sent to the user device from a computer or domain that is not managed by the cookie editor, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.

In addition to the aforementioned, there are also what are called session or persistent cookies, which are used as their name suggests for the time indicated. The latter remain stored in the user's browser while former disappear when the session ends.

Lastly, there is another cookie classification consisting of four types depending on the purpose for which the data obtained are processed:

a) Technical cookies: are cookies that are strictly necessary to be able to browse the website as they enable the user to use features or tools such as those to: identify the session, control access to restricted areas, store content to distribute videos or sound items and to set language preferences, among others. Disabling these will impair the proper functioning of certain website features.

b) Preference or personalisation cookies: are cookies that remember the user’s preset preferences and access a service with particular characteristics that distinguish that user’s browsing experience from others, such as, for example, the language preference, the number of results to be shown when the user runs a search, the aspect or content of the service depending on the browser type through which the user accesses the service or the region from which it is accessed, etc.

c) Analytical or measurement cookies:  are cookies that facilitate the person in charge of them to monitor and study the behaviour of the users on the websites to which they are linked. The information collected by these types of cookies is used to measure website activity and to draw up user browsing profiles to incorporate improvements resulting from analysis of the data on how users use the service.

In short, web analytics provides information on the number of users visiting a website, the number of pages visited, visit frequency and repetition data, visit duration, the browser used, the operator providing the service, the language and terminal used, or the town/city to which the IP address is assigned. This information makes it possible to improve and provide a more suitable service by the website in question.

d) Behavioural advertising cookies: are cookies that store information on the behaviour of users obtained from continually observing their browsing habits, which makes it possible to draw up a specific profile to display advertising based on those habits. These cookies obtain information from user browsing to manage advertising space and offer more relevant and quality content for the user based on an analysis of that user’s tastes and preferences.
