    2. Why we process your personal data and on what grounds

    Your personal data will be processed by the DATA FOR SCIENCE FOUNDATION for the purposes and on the legal basis indicated below:
    a. Collaborators and volunteers. We process our collaborators’ and volunteers’ personal data to manage our relationship with them and to monitor the different aspects of the Ulysses Project. Concluding collaboration contracts, legitimate interest and the consent given constitute the legal basis for this processing. The aforementioned consent can be withdrawn at any time, without this affecting the processing done up to the said withdrawal.
    b. Contacts. The contact data voluntarily provided to DATA FOR SCIENCE FOUNDATION (name, surname(s), e-mail and telephone number) by users interested in receiving commercial information will be processed to respond to the requests made in the forms made available for this purpose online and/or by e-mail. User consent by accepting this Privacy Policy, or the sending of any e-mail to the addresses given online constitutes the legal basis for this data processing.

    c. Newsletter. The data (name and e-mail) of users who voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter will be processed to send information on DATA FOR SCIENCE FOUNDATION latest news, activities, events, etc. User consent is the legal basis for processing the data collected to send these communications.


    3. Authenticity of data subject and the obligation to provide the information

    Data subjects undertake to guarantee the authenticity of the information provided and to keep it updated so that at all times it reflects the real situation of the data subject in question, who shall be solely liable for any false or inaccurate information provided and for the harm it may cause the DATA FOR SCIENCE FOUNDATION.

    The DATA FOR SCIENCE FOUNDATION does not envisage the disclosure to third parties or the international transfers of your data.

Strict criteria are used by the Foundation to select these providers and the pertinent processing agreements are signed with all of them as provided for under Article 28 of the GDPR.

    The personal data provided to us will be stored for as long as it takes to comply with the purpose for which they have been collected and, where there may be other responsibilities to be met, they will be stored for as long as is strictly necessary depending on the legal basis for the processing in question.

    Moreover, you are hereby informed that your data can remain blocked by the DATA FOR SCIENCE FOUNDATION for consultation regarding legal, administrative or tax matters for the periods legally established by each applicable regulation.

    6. Data subject rights

    You can exercise the following rights:
    Right to access. The right to ask us to confirm at any given moment that we are processing your personal data and that you be given access to them; the right to information about their processing and the right to obtain a copy of them.
    Right to rectification. The right to request the rectification of inaccurate, non-updated or incomplete personal data.
    Right to erasure. The right to have your personal data erased when, among other reasons, the data are no longer required for the purposes for which they were collected. Notwithstanding, this is not an absolute right, so DATA FOR SCIENCE FOUNDATION can continue to keep them, albeit duly blocked, for those circumstances envisaged by the applicable regulations. Right to restriction of processing The right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data whenever the accuracy, lawfulness or need for processing proves doubtful, in which case, we will be able to store your data to exercise or defend against legal claims.
    Right to data portability. The right to have your data transferred to another data controller in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.     Right to object. This right enables you to object to the processing of your personal data, which includes profiling. The DATA FOR SCIENCE FOUNDATION can only refuse to observe your right to objection when it can provide legitimate grounds for the processing or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
    The right not to be subject to automated decisions, including profiling. This right entitles you not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning, or similarly affects, you. This will not apply if the decision is necessary to enter into or perform a contract, or is authorised by a law or based on consent.
    Right to withdraw consent. In those cases where your consent to process your personal data has been obtained for certain activities, you may withdraw it at any given time.
    These rights can be exercised free of charge by the data subject, or their representative, by sending a request to this effect in writing addressed to the company registered office given above in point 1 or by e-mail to:lopd@ulyssesproject.org.
    Any such request must come with a copy of your national ID document or other equivalent ID document and the minimum details established in the applicable regulation:

    • Data subject name and surname(s), photocopy of national ID document, passport or other valid ID document.
    • Petition to be fulfilled in the request.
    • Address for notification purposes, date and data subject signature.
    • Documents accrediting the petition being made.

    The DATA FOR SCIENCE FOUNDATION hereby reminds data subjects that they have the right to file a claim with the Spanish Data Protection Agency or other competent regulatory authority if they are unsatisfied with the attention received regarding their rights.
