2. Contest Dynamics

From the @ulysses.project profile, we will share a post (image) to announce the contest via Instagram, explaining the dynamics to enter the surfboard contest.

To participate in the contest, interested parties must:

• Comment on the post with a slogan-phrase related to the Ulysses project and marine sustainability.
• Follow the Ulysses page on Instagram.

Participants may enter the contest more than once by submitting different phrases in the comments of the post. The winner will be selected by a jury from FUNDACIÓN DATA FOR SCIENCE starting August 30.

3. Prize Definition

The winner will be awarded a custom surfboard featuring the Ulysses logo and the winning slogan-phrase.

The contest winner accepts the dates and terms set forth in these official rules. Failure to accept them implies forfeiture of the prize. Under no circumstances may the prize for this promotion be exchanged for cash.

4. Participation Requirements and Deadline

To be eligible to win the contest, participants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a natural person and participate through their own Instagram account.
• Reside within the territory of Spain.
• Be at least fourteen (14) years old. Participants under eighteen (18) years of age must have express authorization from their parents or legal guardians to participate in the contest.
• Accounts tagged in the comments must be real accounts belonging to natural persons, excluding accounts representing organizations, companies, and/or celebrities.

The participation period will begin on August 14, 2026, and end on August 30, 2026, inclusive.

5. Selection of the Winner

During the week following the participation deadline, the FUNDACIÓN DATA FOR SCIENCE jury will meet to select a winning slogan-phrase from those submitted in the post comments. In making its decision, the jury will consider the originality of the proposal and its connection to the overall message of the Ulysses project.

6. Winner Notification

The winner will be notified via direct message sent to the Instagram profile used to comment the slogan. They will have 48 hours to respond. If @ulysses.project is not contacted within this period, the prize will be considered declined and a new winning slogan-phrase will be selected.

7. Prize Collection

The prize will be delivered in person by staff from Surf Eskola Sopelana, Moana Eco Surf House, and Moana Surf and Skate Camp at their respective facilities in Sopelana. If the winner wishes to receive the prize at another location, they may request shipment, assuming all associated costs in full.

The prize is personal and non-transferable. The winner's identity will be verified exclusively through official documents (DNI/NIE, passport, or other equivalent identification document).

FUNDACIÓN DATA FOR SCIENCE will not cover any additional or extra expenses other than those expressly outlined in these Official Rules, and is released from any contractual and/or non-contractual liability that could be attributed as a result of or in connection with the winner's use of the prize.

8. Use of the Slogan-Phrase

Participants expressly authorize FUNDACIÓN DATA FOR SCIENCE to use, for advertising and promotional purposes, the slogan-phrase with which they entered the contest, in any media and advertising materials (whether own or third-party), should they be selected as the winner. Said images will not be used in ways that offend dignity or honor, and this authorization carries no geographical restrictions or financial compensation.

9. Use of Image Rights

Participants expressly authorize FUNDACIÓN DATA FOR SCIENCE to use, for advertising and promotional purposes, their name and image in any media and advertising materials (whether own or third-party) should they win. These images will not be used in ways that offend dignity or honor.

This authorization will be valid for 30 days from the end of the contest. The authorization carries no geographic restrictions or financial compensation.

If the participant is under eighteen (18) years old, written authorization for the use of their image must be granted by their parents or legal guardians. FUNDACIÓN DATA FOR SCIENCE will provide image release forms that must be properly completed and delivered to the school and hotel staff.

10. Unforeseen Events and Exceptional Cases. Reservations and Limitations

FUNDACIÓN DATA FOR SCIENCE reserves the right to suspend, cancel, extend, shorten, or modify the promotion if required by circumstances, without having to justify the decision and without incurring any liability as a result, provided this does not prejudice the rights acquired by participants. Likewise, it reserves the right to substitute the aforementioned prizes with others of similar characteristics and value. The awarded prize cannot be changed, altered, or compensated at the winner's request.

FUNDACIÓN DATA FOR SCIENCE is not responsible for any improper use of the prize by the winner, nor for damages resulting from circumstances beyond its direct control, including acts of God, force majeure, or third-party actions that may affect the contest's development and prizes.

It reserves the right to take legal action against anyone committing acts that could be considered tampering or falsification of the contest. Any fraud detected in the participation system will result in the immediate disqualification of the affected participants.

12. Acceptance of the Official Rules

Participation in this promotion implies full acceptance of these Official Rules and the criteria of FUNDACIÓN DATA FOR SCIENCE regarding the resolution of any issues that may arise. Consequently, the foundation may legitimately disqualify any participant who fails to comply with the terms, thereby releasing FUNDACIÓN DATA FOR SCIENCE from any obligation to said participant.

13. Personal Data Processing

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on Personal Data Protection and guarantee of digital rights (LOPDGDD), the following information is provided:

• Purpose of processing: Manage contest participation, verify compliance with requirements, contact winners, and, where applicable, deliver prizes.
• Legal basis: Necessary to manage the data subject's participation, verify requirements, contact the winner, and deliver the prize (Article 6.1.b of the GDPR).
• Retention period: Data will be kept for the time necessary to manage the contest and deliver the prize. Afterwards, it will remain blocked for the necessary periods to handle potential legal liabilities.
• Recipients: Data will not be transferred to third parties, except as stated in section 9 (Use of Image Rights) or as required by law.
• Rights: You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es). To exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and/or objection, you may contact the data controller at: info@ulyssesproject.org.
• Information on tagged third parties: Participants who tag third parties guarantee that they have obtained their prior consent to do so. FUNDACIÓN DATA FOR SCIENCE will not process tagged individuals' data beyond verifying participation validity.

This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. Instagram is fully released from all liability by each participant. Participants accept that any claim or action related to the contest shall be directed solely against FUNDACIÓN DATA FOR SCIENCE.

Applicable law and jurisdiction: These legal terms are governed by Spanish law. For any controversy arising from the interpretation or application of these rules, the parties submit to the Courts and Tribunals of Bilbao, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction that may correspond to them.
